Music Thursdays in the Village will continue every 4th Thursday through September.

Music Thursdays are sponsored by the Chimney Rock Village Community Development Association. All donations collected at the Music Thursday events support the promotion and beautification of Chimney Rock Village.

Asheville Middle Building Open to Remembrance
On Wednesday, July 6, 2016, Asheville will be saying goodbye to the current Asheville Middle School campus. Former students of the school building are invited to walk the halls, take pictures, and gather on Friday, June 24, 2016, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Alumni will be able to request a brick from the demolished building this Friday to be received at a later date. Those unable to attend this event will have until the end of the week to stop by the Central Office at 85 Mountain Street to sign their names in the remembrance book as well as fill out a request for a brick from the old building.
There will be additional remembrance at the opening of the new Asheville Middle School campus, directly behind the current site, in the Fall. Please stay tuned and updated through ACS communications.

Hike of the Week: Wildflower Walk
Join Parkway rangers for an easy to moderate 2-mile round-trip hike on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. We’ll look for blooming wildflowers and see if any of the cacti are producing “tunas.”

Young Artist Program Presentation
On Friday, June 24, come see our official public presentation of the participants of our Young Artist Program perform arias and excerpts from the best of operatic literature. A talk will follow the presentation about the life of a Young Artist in the opera world, and include sneak peaks of upcoming performances by our students.

Annual RiddleFest
The Traditional Voices Group is pleased to announce this year’s RiddleFest Concert. On June 25, TVG will host the annual event at the Burnsville Town Center from 7 to 9 p.m. The Burnsville Jubilee Choir featuring the Griffith Chapel Singers will be the featured musical group. The evening will open with blues singer/songwriter Steve Barnes, who will perform his original composition “Esley’s Blues.” The first set will also include the Celtalachian harmony group Thistle Dew and Americana singer Ash Devine. Tickets will be $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Concessions will feature home-made desserts.
