Build Day!

If you like being out of doors, we invite you to join us this Saturday, April 30 for the next round of readying the Amphitheatre for the summer season.

Starting at 10 am we’ll be building platforms for our outdoor season, but even if you don’t have carpentry skills, we need all types of other talents you may have to lend.

We’ll serve lunch and beer (and soft drinks) so please join us!

“I don’t mind going if a lunch is provided”, said the businessman.

Thanks for your support of the Montford Park Players!

Mother’s Day & Kids Archaeological Dig 2016

Visit Cafe Israel for an evening of savory Israeli dishes and wine tasting, live folk music and dance, and children’s activities on Mothers’ Day, Sunday, May 8 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Slip away into the exotic world of the Bedouins to sip Turkish coffee and sample films from the region, all in honor of Israel’s 68th birthday. Children will enjoy our traditional archaeological dig with take-home treasures; inflatables; balloon twisting from Twister Theater; and crafts and games.

While the children play, shop our silent auction featuring fine art, theater and play performances, trolley tours, and much more. Our LIVE auction (featuring Jonas Gerard art, Moog Sub Phatty, as well as legal, entertainment, and catering services) begins at 7 pm.

Curious foodie? Our dishes are ethnic, authentic and hand-prepared. Many are Moroccan family recipes handed down for generations. Sample falafel and schwarma, mabucha and malabi! Save room for dessert? Bruce B. Brown Catering, renowned for its flavorful kosher delicacies, will serve hand-prepared Israeli desserts.

Congregation Beth Israel is located at 229 Murdock Avenue, across from North Asheville’s Weaver Park. For more information, visit our Facebook page, our Twitter feed, or call (828) 252-8860. An indoor event open to the community. Admission is free. Free parking is available on the synagogue grounds.

FREE International Museum Day!

International Museum Day
MAY 18 – Wednesday
Free and open to the public, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Art Break, 12:00 p.m.
Family open studio, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Every year since 1977, International Museum Day is organized on May 18. From America to Oceania and from Africa and Europe to Asia, this year’s event celebrates the theme, “Museums and Cultural Landscapes.” Institutions around the world open their doors and organize programs that explore how museums are responsible for their landscapes – both inside or outside their walls, and both physical and cultural – by contributing knowledge and taking an active role in their management and upkeep.
