Gender Creative Kids Play Group (under 12yrs)

Back by popular demand! The Gender Creative Kids Play Group is back with a new location!

Porch Light Counseling invites kids under 12 to the Gender Creative Kids Play Group. Gender creative kids color outside the lines of the gender box they were assigned at birth. They don’t listen when people say that girls can’t play with trucks and boys can’t wear tutus. If this sounds like your child, please join us to create a safe space where we can rewrite the rules together. The only requirement for attendance is respect for the other participants’ creativity. This group is free and registration is not required. This is not a drop-off group. Caregivers are expected to stay with their children for the duration of the group. This location offers ample free parking; a private, fenced playground; access to all gender bathrooms and an indoor play space in case of rain.
** Please note the Land of the Sky UCC is located in the building previously occupied by Westminster Presbyterian and some of the nearby signage still directs you to Westminster.

Strong Kids Summer Camp (ages 5-12)

June 12th-16th $95

July 17th-21st $95

Aug 7th-11th $95

Starting on Monday and finishing on Friday this summer camp is a must for your kids during the summer.

Monday, a complete Mixed Martial Arts day to start off the week. Multiple activities, games and lessons and a soft intro in the world of mixed martial arts.
Tuesday, we will teach survival in the wilderness. This day will increase their survival skills in the real world.

Wednesday, guest speaker and firearms instructor Travis rector with Overwatch Defense will demonstrate safe handgun handling and accident prevention with firearms.

Thursday, I will dive a little deeper into the mixed martial arts schooling. On this day, we will talk about bullies and protecting our friends along with self respect and discipline.

On Friday, it’s our party day! A little more laid back, fun games and activities. Each day will contain a fitness routine, and keeping active.

This camp is unlike any other camp. It functions as a life saving schooling but yet the kids have fun doing so!

All kids will be responsible for having breakfast before camp and bringing their lunches. Snacks will be served in the afternoon before they are ready for pickup at 5:30. Drop off in the morning is at 8:00am. You may drop off your child anytime after 8:00am and may pick them up earlier in the afternoon. If you choose to do so, however recognize our days are full of learning so the time missed is a learning experience lost.

This camp is available to a limited number of students. To insure your spot, sign up today!

A non refundable deposit of half of the weeks tuition is required to sign up.

To celebrate, Kids in Parks (in partnership with the Blue Ridge Parkway) is unveiling a brand new way to have fun with Kids in Parks. Find out how you can get outdoors, have and adventure, and have a blast all while improving your health!

Sunday, April 24th at 3 P.M. we will be at the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center to celebrate. We will have guided hikes, local doctors, and free prizes! Don’t miss it!

Underwater Cave Exploration! lecture

Join the Snake, Rabbit, and Snail Bookmobile for another wonderful FREE educational lecture for children!!! Speleologist Jill Yager will talk about her years as an underwater cave explorer. She will show pictures of the interesting creatures that dwell in the underwater caves, and of her many adventures.
