Kids Eat Free with the Easter Bunny!

Join us on March 19th for a little Easter Fun. The Easter Bunny will be here from 12 -3, feel free to take as many pictures as you would like. Kids Eat Free while the Easter Bunny is here!

Easter Egg Hunt

In case of inclement weather, we will hold the egg hunt inside. There will be snacks, lots of eggs, and prizes for everyone!

Family Story Time and Easter Egg Hunt (2-6yrs)

Join us at the Canton Branch Library at 11 Pennsylvania Ave. for a high energy storytime followed by a spring inspired egg hunt. Storytime begins at 10:30 and the egg hunt begins at 11:00. Bring a bag or basket for egg collecting. This event is recommended for ages 2-6. No registration is necessary. For more information call 648-2924.

Preschool Open House

Drop in between 1:30-3pm to check out our program for 2019-20 enrollment! Our team will be here to greet you, share our awesome classroom spaces and answer any questions you may have!

Run Wild! Summer Day Camp (6-12yrs)

June 19 – 23
July 3 – 7

Days: Monday-Friday
Time: 9AM – 3PM

 

This camp is filled with more fun, adventure, and learning about the natural world than you thought was possible in a week.  Your children will come home each afternoon both beaming and tired from the days journey of discovery.

Through games, stories, and exploration children will learn:

  • Outdoor Safety & Awareness
  • Animal Tracking
  • Edible & Medicinal Wild Plants
  • Wilderness Survival Skills
  • Ancient Crafts
  • Ecology, Community
  • and much more

 

Family Fire Fundamentals (7+yrs)

In this multi-part full day and evening event, join us as we re-ignite the ancient relationship between humans and fire.

AGES: Adults and children 7 & up*
DATE: March 26
TIME: 10AM – 8PM
10AM-3PM: Fire Workshops
3PM-5PM: Open Fire Cooking
5-6PM: Dinner(provided)
6-8PM: Fireside Storytelling

PRICE (includes dinner):
$45 per adult(18+), $35 per child(7-17)

LOCATION: 472 Shope Creek Rd. in East Asheville

*Program designed for Adults and children ages 7 and up. All children must attend with a parent or guardian. Under 7 welcome to attend, but must be with parent at all times.

This event will be three distinct parts that, as a whole, combine to make for a rich and connective experience.

Part 1: Fire Workshops (10AM-3PM)
Learn the ancient art of friction-fire making from skilled and experienced instructors. There will be two class periods, approx. 2 hours each, and classes may include:
– Bow Drill technique
– Bow Drill kit making
– Hand Drill
– One Match Fire
– Tinder Bundles
– 5 Minute Fire Challenge

Part 2: Open-fire Cooking Class and Field Games (3PM-5PM)
Learn to build and tend a fire for the purpose of creating a delicious meal.
Also during this time is an opportunity to relax, explore the beautiful forest of Shope Creek, or join in on the fun field games facilitated by one of our instructors.

Part 3: Fireside Storytelling (6PM-8PM)
Cozy up around the fire and enjoy one of our ancestors oldest traditions: storytelling. Listen as experienced storytellers recount the mythic origins of fire, and you may even have the opportunity to tell your own story to the tribe.

Tuesday Bobcats: Homeschool Program (4-6yrs)

Tuesdays, 10:00am – 3:00pm
Dates: March 22 – May 31, with a break on April 19
Price: $400 (monthly payment plan available)
$80 deposit due at registration(payable online via PayPal below)

Location: E. Asheville at Shope Creek(at the end of Riceville Rd.)

Friday River Otter Homeschool Program (6-13yrs)

Fridays, 9:00am – 3:00pm

Dates: March 11 – June 12, with a break on April 22

Price: $520 (monthly payment plan available)

$80 deposit due at registration(payable online with credit card)

Location: Herb Mountain Farm, only 20 min. NE of Asheville, part of over 100 acres of forested conservation land in the beautiful Reems Creek Valley.
