Annual Mountain Glory Festival

Experience a cherished fall tradition in the mountains of North Carolina at the 42nd Annual Mountain Glory Festival on October 11th, 2025 from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM in downtown Marion.

The Mountain Glory Festival fills three blocks of downtown with more than 150 booths, including handmade crafts, delicious festival foods, nonprofit organizations, and community sponsors. In addition to the festival vendors, Marion businesses will be open throughout the day, offering shopping, dining, and drinks.

Highlights of the day include:
• Shopping and food vendors featuring one-of-a-kind crafts and regional flavors
• The Kid’s Korner with hands-on activities such as tutu-making, spin art, a fishing booth, and balloon art
• The Best Dressed Pet Contest on the Family Stage
• Local entertainment all day with performances from musicians, choirs, dance studios, and more
• Special exhibits and activities including the Mountain Glory Quilt Show at the McDowell Arts Council (50 S Main St.).

Free shuttle service will run every half hour from Marion City Square plaza parking lot (500 N. Main St.) to the festival site. Handicap parking will be available at Marion’s Community Building (191 N Main St).

You might even see Bigfoot, Marion’s mascot, making an appearance downtown.

This all happens on Main Street, Downtown Marion. Street Parking available on side streets, in the Tailgate Market Lot and City Parking Lots on the West Side of Main St.

If you are planning to march or have a vehicle in the parade, please call our office, 828-652-2515, to register. Leave a voicemail if we are unable to answer. We will call you back as soon as possible. We ask for phone registrations to be able to plan for the number of participants we may have. It is free to participate in the parade.

Annual Liver Mush Festival

Celebrate all things pig at the Marion Liver Mush Festival on Main Street in Downtown Marion.
Liver Mush is a regional delicacy and part of the heritage of Marion and McDowell County!
Join in the Pig Calling Contest. Or the Liver Mush Eating Contest!!! Inflatables and other activities for the kids!!
Visit with the craft vendors and sponsors. And what would a Liver Mush Festival be without the sounds of
great country music and rock classics by local country band – “Roadrunnerz”.
Free Liver Mush sandwiches from Hunter’s Liver Mush, the event sponsor.
