The City of Hendersonville invites the community to celebrate the grand opening of the newly refreshed 7th Avenue District at the 7th Avenue Street Fest on Saturday, May 3, from noon to 5:00 p.m. This celebration coincides with the opening day of the Hendersonville Farmers Market (8am-1pm on Maple Street), creating a day filled with local flavor, live entertainment, and community spirit.

The 7th Avenue Street Fest will showcase a variety of local vendors, live music, and family-friendly activities. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the revitalized district and connect with the community.

The event schedule includes:

  • 8am – 1pm: Opening Day of the Hendersonville Farmers Market on Maple Street
  • 12pm –2pm: 7th Avenue Street Fest begins with Radical Joy w/ Mary Kay Williams & Elaine Scott
  • 2pm: Opening remarks and community ribbon cutting
  • 2:30pm: ArtScape Banner Reveal at Hendersonville Rescue Mission on 7th Avenue
  • 3pm-5pm Music with the Stipe Brothers
  • A highlight of the celebration will be the ArtScape Banner Reveal at 2:30pm, adding a vibrant touch to the district with newly displayed artworks from talented local artists.

The Hendersonville Farmers Market will kick off its 2025 season on the same day, offering fresh local produce, baked goods, crafts, and more with many vendors staying for the entire day. Visitors can stroll through the market while enjoying the festivities of the Street Fest, making it a perfect weekend outing for families and friends.

The 7th Avenue Street Fest is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their enthusiasm and support for local businesses, artists, and musicians as Hendersonville marks this milestone in the district’s revitalization, celebrating the completion of the $4.2 million streetscape revitalization which included significant and necessary underground utility updates. Information on 7th Avenue and the events can be found at downtownhendersonville.org.

The 7th Avenue Street Fest would not be possible without our generous sponsors: Osceola Lake Inn, Noble Pest Solutions, Henderson Oil, Harper Construction, Hendersonville Historic Preservation Commission, Watermark Landscape Architecture, Carolina Specialties Construction, White Duck Taco Shop, Dunlap Construction, and Hendersonville Honeycrisps.

Wee Rocket Race

Our Wee Rocket Race on the track at 11am is open to all kids wanting to run for fun, but are not ready for a 5k. The race distances & general age guidance are below, however, your input is vital. At registration, you can sign your child up for the race you feel best suits them. We only ask if they are a regular runner, they do not drop into a lower distance race they are overqualified for. All participants receive a prize, and each race has a prize for the winner, as well. Our goal is to have the final runner not finish alone, so we are asking for volunteer run companions. The purpose of the Wee Rocket Race is to encourage & empower future runners to participate, & that means just running is a win!
