Hendersonville YMCA Family Cooking Class
Want to have some fun with the family making delicious food? In this hands-on cooking class, you will work with your family to make fresh recipes you will enjoy all summer long. Following the class all families will have the chance to sit down together and enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Class is open to the public and located at the UNC Asheville Kellogg Center in Hendersonville. Cost is $55 for YMCA members, and $75 for non-members. Maximum 3 members per family, there must be at least one adult (18+) participating. Suggest ages 6+ for children. Space is limited, so sign up quick! Kid’s Day Paint & Sip at Point Lookout
Bring the entire family our for an amazing afternoon at Point Lookout! Hues of Hendo brings the paint & the fun. You show up ready to have an amazing time with your little ones & walk away with a CUTE piece of decor you create together!

You can also choose from any of our other signs (see the “Events” section of our Facebook page to scroll through the past/future events). Also, we can cut virtually anything out of wood — so you can also contact me for something custom (sports, animals, etc.)
Each painter receives:
-One hand-cut, wooden sign
-Use of painting supplies
-Artist instruction
-Wire for hanging
-Optional burlap bow
-Optional, customizable vinyl decal (cursive or print font).

Saturday Night Lights
Our Saturday Night Lights (SNL) Series can be enjoyed on select dates from May through October.
These action-packed nights feature free entertainment such as pony rides, live bands, face painting, rides on a hand-painted Venetian carousel, performers, and more! Grab dinner, a carnival-style treat, your beverage of choice, and enjoy top show jumping competition under the lights in Tryon Stadium with family and friends. Leashed pets are always welcome, too!
Paid parking for Saturday Night Lights (cash or card both accepted) will begin at 4pm, and all horse show and lodging guests will be provided with passes to provide a seamless experience. Our guests can continue to expect free kids activities (such as face painting, pony rides, carousel rides, etc.), live music and entertainment, free access to all shopping and dining options, and world-class competition at no charge.

Cookies & Creamery Grand Opening Celebration
Although Cookies & Creamery swung its doors open in April, French Broad Chocolate waited until true ice cream weather descended on Asheville to celebrate. Slated for Saturday, June 8, from 1 to 4 p.m., the grand opening party kicks off with a free ice cream sundae bar, face painting station, and kids’ craft projects at 21 Buxton Ave. All ages are welcome and we’ll have a few treats for the adults too – enjoy $1 off all beer & wine drinks all day long!
Aside from the celebration, Cookies & Creamery will host rolling specials all day long on Saturday, June 8, which will be announced at the top of each hour from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and include:
11 a.m. – FREE mini breakfast sundae
12 p.m. – FREE mini affogato
1 -4 p.m. – FREE sundae bar
5 p.m. – FREE blondie or brownie bite
6 p.m. – FREE mini nibby cookie
7 p.m. – FREE mini ice cream scoop
8 p.m. – FREE mini beer (or root beer) or wine float
9 p.m. – FREE mini ice cream sandwich
On top of that, free single toppings for all sundaes and scoops will be offered from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. all day.
JCC Aquatics Center & Zimmerman Pool Passes Facebook GIVEAWAY CONTEST

Family Friendly Asheville has been gifted a Family 4 pack of 1 day Guest Pool Day Passes to the beautiful JCC Aquatics Center & Zimerman Pool, to give away to 1 LUCKY WINNER! The JCC Aquatics Center offers year-round aquatics programming, including swim team, swim lessons, lap swimming, water fitness and recreational swimming. The David Zimerman Pool has a retractable cover, making it possible to swim outdoors during summer months and indoors during colder months. Their heated, handicapped accessible, 6-lane, 25-yard chlorinated pool features the only 1-meter competition-grade Duraflex diving board in Asheville. The depth of water begins with a 3 feet 6 inch shallow end and increases to 12 feet in the deep end. The JCC Aquatics Center is equipped with men’s and women’s restroom/changing rooms that include handicapped accessible hot showers and lockers, in addition to a non-gender family restroom/changing room. Your passes will also grant you access to the Pearlman-Rothman Family Plaza that includes an outdoor pavilion with gas grills and zero entry baby pool with splash pad, along with additional picnic space and a wall ball court. Expiration date of your day passes is September 2nd, 2019.

Montford Park Outdoor Movie

Community Day of Art with Pink Dog Creative in collaboration with LEAF Community Arts Easel Rider in the River Arts District. Come celebrate community art with painting activities in front of the ever-changing shipping container! All kids welcome!
