Asheville Community Theatre Tickets FACEBOOK GIVEAWAY CONTEST

GIVEAWAY TIME! ‍‍

Family Friendly Asheville has been gifted 4 Tickets EACH to give away to 2 LUCKY WINNERS, to the stage production of Little One Inch, presented by Red Herring Puppetsat Asheville Community Theatre on February 9th at 10:00am! “Little One-Inch is the story of an old couple whose prayers are answered when they find a small baby by the side of the road. When he comes of age, tiny Little One-Inch sets off on the adventure of a lifetime where he meets a princess, defends her against a dumbstruck ogre and, for his bravery, grows when the princess uses the ogre’s magical hammer on him. Part of our Saturdays at ACT series!”

Grand Opening Celebration for Fit4Mom Asheville

Join us at Launch Trampoline Park on Feb. 3rd from 1-3pm as we celebrate the Grand Opening of FIT4MOM Asheville.
The event is free to the community; kids will be able to jump in the park for discounted rates. We will be offering sample classes so that you can try all of our offerings:

Stroller Barre: 1:15pm-1:30pm
Body Back: 1:45-2:00pm
Stroller Strides: 2:15-2:30pm

If you are interested in taking a class with a small child, please bring your stroller or baby wearing device. Your child will be involved in the class while safely secured in your stroller. If your child is old enough to jump alone, you will be able to view them from the mezzanine where the classes will take place.

Volunteer Expo

Drop in to meet over 70 WNC nonprofits actively seeking new volunteers!

The Junior League of Asheville, Inc. (JLA) will hold its sixth annual Volunteer Expo, on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 from 12 to 3 PM at the Crowne Plaza Expo Center. Modeled after a job fair, this free event will feature local nonprofits looking to fill ongoing and future volunteer needs. Nonprofits in almost every area of community concern will be present at the event: health, poverty, legal aid, environmental stewardship, women’s issues, arts, civic leadership, technology, education and animal welfare.

All community members of all ages are invited to attend this event! Volunteering is a GREAT way to meet new people, make new friends, and help your community!

OptOutside at the WNC Nature Center

Avoid the Black Friday crowd, and enjoy some fresh air at the WNC Nature Center! Featuring 60 species of wildlife native to the Appalachian ecosystem, several engaging children’s play areas, a gem mining sluice, domestic livestock petting area, conservation gift shop, and much more!

We will be presenting three live animal education programs (11:30am, 1:30pm & 3:30pm). And we will host two free family-friendly wildlife walks (12:30pm & 2:30pm) on the Center’s grounds: pre-registration required at the Front Desk upon arrival.

Standard admission rates apply and, as always, admission is free for members of the Friends of the Nature Center!

Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, projects.

We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth – a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.

The Maker Faire is free to attend, but pre-registration helps us keep track of how many people are planning on coming.

Waynesville 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off Stroll

The Galleries of Haywood County, in partnership with the Haywood County Arts Council, present the 3rd Annual Chili Cook Off Stroll hosted by The Jeweler’s Workbench taking place Saturday, January 18th from 12-4pm. The districts of Main Street, Hazelwood and Frog Level restaurants and merchants will compete in the Chili competition while guests, tourists and strollers will have the opportunity to sample chilis in each shop’s location and cast their votes.

Most shops open at 10am so check out the great specials and activities planned around the cook-off.

Wrist bands can be purchased the day of the event for $5 at The Jeweler’s Workbench, Blue Ridge Beer Hub or Cedar Hill Studio or any of the 3 shuttle stops. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Manna Backpack Program – Food for Children in partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Haywood County.

Park and Ride! A complimentary shuttle, provided by Pigeon River Outfitters will pick up guests about every 15 minutes from one of the three “Chili Recovery Stations” (shuttle stops) .

Hazelwood Village: Hazelwood Ave Parking Lot in front of Pink Regalia.
