1st Annual Dance & Drive for Lakota Nation at Ambrose West

1st Annual Dance & Drive for Lakota Nation at Ambrose West

Life on the reservation is extremely difficult. Many people perish each winter in their own homes from lack of basic necessities. On Pine Ridge Reservation over 33% of homes have no electricity or basic running water, this forces many to carry (often contaminated) water from local rivers daily for use. Infant mortality rate is the highest in the country, and about 300% higher than the US average. This is the result of hundreds of years of genocide that continues today. We believe our indigenous brothers and sisters deserve better.

September 30th-October 4th
Monetary Donations
These monies will go directly into the utility accounts for families that have signed up for support to stay warm this winter. We are working with an established organization that acts as a liaison between the utilities and the families on both Pine Ridge and Rosebud. One month of heating can cost anywhere between 200-600$ a month in the harshest parts of winter ( -40 degrees at times ) considering the housing is not up to contemporary insulating standards. Utilities generally wont deliver small amounts so you can paypal us at wesohoney@gmail.com with “HEATING FUEL” and we will donate in bulk at the end of the drive

Meet more than 90 juried fine artists who will be showing and selling their work in media including fiber, wood, clay, metal, painting, photography, jewelry, glass, and more.

We are proud to announce Art on Main was recently named as one of the 100 Best Fine Art & Design Shows, according to Sunshine Artist, America’s premier art & craft show magazine!

Come and see artist’s demonstrations of their creative processes, such as raku pottery firings, water marbling on silk scarves, and many others, while you enjoy Hendersonville’s charming and historic Main Street.

Many of the fine artists in the show will be providing special artwork for the Arts Council’s raffle booth. Raffle items are also coming from members of our supportive Hendersonville community, so be sure to check it out! All raffle donations will benefit the Arts Council and its programs.
