Our annual fundraiser for the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee
We will donate 15% of sales this Sunday afternoon to The Elephant Sanctuary, to support their work providing peace and sanctuary to elephants who have experienced a life of stress and neglect in circuses and zoos. Once again we will have our faithful ele-ambassador Erin attending, elephant food, video, information about the sanctuary and free hand made elephant ornament for select purchases.

And believe us, it’s much better to be ready! Animals and people have always used autumn as a time of preparation, preservation, and celebration before the cold sets in for good. Come find out what fall fruits are dropping on the Blue Ridge Parkway, how our animals are getting ready for lean times, and how our ancestors celebrated the Harvest. Meet at the Glassmine Falls Overlook at Milepost 361.2. Bring water, wear good walking shoes, and be prepared for changeable weather.

Oct 25th, 10:00am-11:30am … Craven Gap … “Haunted Trail”. Join Parkway rangers at 10:00 am on Friday, October 25th for an easy to moderate, 2-mile round-trip hike through the “haunted” forest. Pay attention to the stories being told, for they may be your last (for the season that is). From legends of nocturnal animals to fictional flower folklore, it’s bound to be a “ghoul” time. Meet at the Craven Gap parking area at Milepost 377.4. Bring water, wear good walking shoes, and be prepared for changeable weather.
