Wild on the Water Summer Splash

Don’t let summer slip by! Diamond Brand Outdoors, Wild Wing Cafe Asheville, Buncombe County Recreation Services, + 98.1 The River kick off the weekend with free kayak + stand up paddleboard (SUP) demos, prizes + giveaways, live music, + great food + drink specials!

PFDs, paddles, and boats are provided. When you’re done, grab a bite to eat and a beverage at Wild Wing Cafe. It’s a night of awesome specials, epic discounts, + great music so bring your wild friends!

Kids and well-behaved pets with owner on leash are welcome at this FREE event.

Musician Alina Celeste

Alina Celeste is an internationally touring Family Musician and Teaching Artist.

Her brand of catchy, relevant, and historically rooted music was born in her classroom. She has been teaching music to children and families for over ten years in New York, Los Angeles and now Miami.

Alina’s shows are a joyous blend of  parent -friendly sing-alongs, dance-alongs, and family jams.

Wilderness First Aid (6th-12th Grade)

Teens grades 6-12 are welcome to come learn basic wilderness first aid from a Chimney Rock Park Ranger. We will also have supplies on hand to start your own first aid kit!

Attic Salt Theatre Presents “Newly Grown Tales” (4+yrs)

Newly Grown Tales combines storytelling with inventive theatrical conventions to tell folktales the audience helps the actors build from scratch. This one-of-a kind, fully improvised show is fun for anyone who believes in the power of storytelling, and, maybe, has a story or two to tell. Age 4 & up.

Kids Yoga (5+yrs)

Snakes Alive! (all ages)

Herpetology specialist Ron Cramer will bring live snakes and lizards to the library!

Please pick up your free ticket beginning July 13.

Tap-N-Shake with Sonia Brooks (all ages)

Come a little early to Groovin’ on Grovemont to play percussion with Sonia Brooks. She strums a folk guitar while everyone taps and rattles along with rhythm sticks and shakers. A creative experience filled with lots of guided movement and fun for the whole family!
