Autism Society of North Carolinas’ Buncombe County Chapter Meeting

3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30pm

Autism Society of North Carolinas’ Buncombe County Chapter meeting at First Baptist Church (Asheville, North Carolina). “A place for families of children and adults with autism to meet, share, and learn about autism.

To ensure we have the child-care workers we need, please register for child care by the 2nd Tuesday of the month by contacting Amy Upham at aupham@autismsociety-nc.org, or to Melissa Zenz, interim Buncombe County Chapter Leader, at buncombechapter@autismsociety-nc.org or 419-392-7370.

Huge Benefit Rummage Sale

There will also be a Bake Sale and Plant Sale, as well as food, fun, and music! Volunteers, donations, and shoppers are needed to make this event a success! All proceeds will go to South Sudan for Famine Relief.

WNC Author Festival

Do you love western North Carolina? Do you love local literature? Then stop on by and say hi to some of your favorite local authors! The WNC Author Festival will be held on Saturday 10 February from 2pm to 4pm. A dozen local authors will be in attendance, with genres ranging from Christian inspiration to teen fantasy to humor to historical fiction to urban noir to romance to regional nature. Costumed Character Breakfast: Where the Wild Things Are

Please join us for a costumed character breakfast and story time. We will be reading “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak, along with other engaging stories. Fun crafts and activties to follow.

Plus, one of the Wild Things will be joining us! That’s right! Hang out with a Wild Thing and get your picture taken! Come dressed as Max!

Free and open to the public. All ages welcome.

MIDDLE SCHOOL AGE TIMES: 3:30 TO 5:30

Sign your children up early for these wonderful summer classes! Elementary and Middle School. Mr. Jake had been working with children of all ages and skill levels for many years. He makes the learning process fun while teaching the basics of art. Back by popular demand, so don’t miss out! Maximum of 8 students per class accepted so they will get lots of one on one instruction.

WNC Tractors For Tots Tractor Show

July 27th 10:00am-9:30pm

July 28th 9:00am-4:00pm

We are teaming up with Toys for Tots again this year to host Christmas in July! This fun event will help bring the community together to enjoy each other’s company, great music, delicious food, and lots of kid activities!! If you are able to, please bring an unwrapped toy or cash donation for WNC Toys for Tots; it’ll help put smiles on so many childrens faces this Christmas!

Toys for Tots is an incredible organization. Grand Opening Celebration

Please join us at JuneBug Retro Resort on Saturday July 29th from 12 until 7 for our grand opening celebration! We are located 12 minutes north of downtown Asheville off of Exit 18 of I-26.

We will have a food truck and live bluegrass music and local beer. So bring a blanket or camp chairs and spend the day with us. JuneBug is kid friendly so bring the kiddos!! We have a vintage playground and a nice cool creek for them to play and explore.

We have scheduled two bands to entertain you, the Ashley Heath Duo will be playing from 1-3 pm and the Don Humphries and the Crimea River Valley Boys (featuring Tom Pittman founding member of the Austin Lounge Lizard who can also be heard on WNCW weekend morning show) from 4-6 pm.

Live Music from Northside Gentlemen will serenade us with some funk/classic soul tunes while we bring back memories of summers past.
