Bring your kids, age 3-12, out for a fun time to learn about the Bible and have some fun with other kids. Kids and volunteers can both register here.
FREE FAMILY THEATER!
Montford Park Players is North Carolina’s Longest Running Shakespeare Festival. Join them for live Shakespeare and other great classics at the Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre (92 Gay Street, Asheville). Completely FREE to attend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings all summer long! All productions at 7:30pm.

These free outdoor concerts offer a diverse line-up of music from pop, oldies, rock, to contemporary music – there’s something for every musical taste! Live Music, Dancing, Food Trucks, and Classic Cars. Concert organized by the Arts Council of Henderson County. Bring your chairs and enjoy some great live music.
THE 2025 LINEUP:
Marshall celebrates our four legged best friends during the Dog Daze of summer. There will be a parade starting at the Courthouse at 6:00 p.m. and ending at the stage at the island. There will be dog contests and specials throughout downtown. Come spend a lazy summer evening in Marshall!
Come hike the Orchard trails with environmental scientist Lauren Street! Kids will learn identification of local flora and fauna, stream ecology, and more!
Come listen as Orchard owner Bill Carson reads his book, “When It Rains on the Mountain”! Children will get a free copy of the book and a chance to meet Bill and get an autograph.
Theater outreach program – interactive for children, free for all ages Reading is Alive! encourages children to read for pleasure, maintains and improves reading skills, encourages them to be lifelong readers and library users, establishes reading as a foundation for academic success, and provides the cultural experience of live theater to all ages.
Along with the live family-friendly musical, “A Year with Frog and Toad”, children will have a chance to create a one-of-a-kind craft with a Penland teaching artist, sign up for the summer reading program through the library, and receive a book (while supplies last)!
Best of all — it’s all FREE!!
Build a sandcastle-in-a-box and put it on display at the library! All materials will be provided and all ages are welcome, but space is limited.
