Serafina Book 3 Preview Reading

Buy your tickets now to join Robert Beatty, author of the #1 New York Times Bestselling SERAFINA SERIES, for his special sneak-preview reading of the opening chapters and cover unveiling of SERAFINA AND THE SPLINTERED HEART, the highly anticipated third book in this acclaimed Disney-Hyperion mystery-thriller series set at Biltmore Estate. This exclusive event is the first public reading of the new book in Asheville, and the venue – the historic Asheville Masonic Temple – is as magical and mystical as Serafina herself. Mr. Beatty will perform his dramatic reading in the beautiful theater, which once served as Asheville’s opera house and still retains the incredible hand-painted backdrops. In addition to the reading and cover unveiling, the event will include Q&A with the author, costumed characters from the book trailers, photo opportunities, a reception with the author and his family, signings for the first two books, and Serafina giveaways.

Tickets for this special event are $24, which includes a pre-order for a signed and personalized hardcover copy of Book 3, which you’ll receive when it comes out in July. Alternatively, you can choose to receive a copy of Book 1 or Book 2 at the event, or donate a Serafina book to a local school. Malaprop’s will also be on hand for additional Serafina book sales if you need extra copies at the signing. Food and drink will be on sale through the venue’s concession stand. Most of your ticket price will go to the cost of the book itself, but a percentage of the ticket price will go toward the preservation of this historic site.

We invite you to have breakfast with our special guest, Cat in the Hat! Children will have the opportunity to meet and have pictures with Cat in the Hat and will enjoy a special activity! Guests can then join us for our special Storytime and more activities with Cat in the Hat.

Park RX Day Celebration

Getting outdoors isn’t just fun, it’s also healthy! Park Rx is a national movement partnering doctors with public lands to improve the health of both. Kids in Parks is a part of that movement with the TRACK Rx program. This is a great opportunity to get outside, hang out with your family and doctor, and discover how playing outside can be part of your healthy lifestyle.

The festivities start at 2 PM at the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center in Asheville. We can’t wait to see you there!

Easter Egg Hunt

The Laurel Park Civic Association will once again sponsor its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Laurel Park Green on Saturday, April 1st at 3:00. Children up to 10 years old are welcome to come and meet the Easter bunny and join in the games that will follow the egg hunt. Children participating in the games will be divided into two age categories—3 to 6 and 7-10. Winners in each category of the “egg in spoon” contest and the three-legged race will receive a prize! Additional parking for the event is being provided by the 1st Congregational Church in their lot across from Laurel Park Green. Come out and join us and have some fun!
