All Ages – Family Friendly
Now that we have voiced our concerns at our amazing march on Asheville, our next step is to make some calls and write postcards to our Senators about what matters most to us – and how we’re going to continue to fight for it in the days, weeks and months ahead!
Let’s do that together at the BLOCK-off-Biltmore this Saturday from 5:30PM to 7PM.
We will have some postcards and stamps available. We encourage you to bring your own if you can!
HOW TO PREPARE:
1) You can print the postcards here before coming to the gathering: https://
2) Think about what issue(s) is/are important to you (healthcare, women’s rights and decisions regarding their own reproductive destinies, immigration law, etc.) You don’t need to stay the entire time. Drop by and write for a few minutes. See you then!
Although they are open daily, 12:00pm-2:00am, it’s 21+ after 9:00pm

Businesses will offer extended hours, and will line the corridor with (battery-powered) luminaries to provide an inviting and romantic setting near Valentine’s Day for strolling to shops and restaurants. The luminaries will feature merchant and community decorated bags. Stop by Wall Street shops any time Saturday to decorate your own bag, following the theme of love, light and community.
Stuart Cowles, owner of longtime Wall Street business Climbmax Climbing said the event is “a great opportunity to discover and rediscover one of downtown Asheville’s most iconic streets, and for businesses to engage with the community in a unique way.”
The event celebrates Wall Street as a pedestrian-friendly corridor, while supporting its businesses and providing a safe, enjoyable community-oriented experience downtown. The series serves as a pilot for consideration of regular and more frequent (though temporary) closures of streets to car traffic.
Future Walkable Wall Street events are planned on the following Saturdays:

RIBBIT, RIBBIT! Calling all frog lovers! FrogWatch USA is a citizen science program set up through AZA to help scientists collect data and vital information on frogs and toads. Join us for an hour-long classroom training where you will listen to the chorus of croaks, ribbits, and ‘jug-a-rums’, learn about all the native frogs and toads that live right here in western North Carolina, and identify the type of frog or toad by their call. Then we’ll head out to a couple of hoppin’ frog spots around the Asheville area to see what species we can observe. Program is geared to those ages 10 and up.
