5th Annual New Years Ruby Drop

It’s time for the 5th Annual New Years Ruby Drop on Main St. Franklin, NC. This event is hosted by Motor Company Grill and Crabtree General Store. Many Businesses will be open along Main Street having indoor parties and live music and drinks!
Motor Co. will be serving dinner inside and have drinks and heaters on the patio.
Music will play along Main Street and the 7′ Tall Ruby will drop in Town Square at midnight to ring in 2019!!!!
This event is free!
Come have your party on Main Street with local businesses!!!!!!!

Filmmaking After School (2nd-6th Grade)

Join us for weekly adventures in filmmaking after school! Monday afternoons (Wednesdays available if Mondays fill)

Students will make movies and animations! Topics change every month.

January is 90 second Newberry! We’ll be making a film for the book: My Father’s Dragon. February, March, April, and May films TBD.
Flexible dropoff & pickup 30 minutes before/after each class

Gym & Swim Program (3-5yrs)

Tuesdays, January 3rd-Feb 14th
YMCA Gym & Swim for preschoolers is a great way to introduce your child to the gym and pool. After 30 minutes of structured games and activities using music, balls, parachute play and more, we’ll head into the pool for structured lesson in the water. Parent participation is NOT required for this class. We can bring children who are signed up from the YDC to the gym. Parents will pick up at the pool.

A Night in Wonderland Daddy/Daughter Dance

Session 1 2:30pm-4:30pm

Session 2  6:30pm-8:30pm

 

Treat your little princess to an evening in wonderland with music, refreshments and dancing. Every young lady will receive a flower and goodie bag.

All ages welcome.

Formal attire. Professional photographer will be onsite.

Tickets are $20 per couple ($5 each additional daughter) and must be purchased in advance at hcprd.com or by calling 828-697-4884 before Jan 31st. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

36th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast

Doors open at 7:45am. Pre program entertainment starts at 8:00 am.

Tickets available at the door: $35 (patron), $30 (general) and $15 (youth).

Keynote speaker is Patricia Russell-McCloud. She is a “visual speaking experience.” With more than 20 years on the lecture circuit, she is categorized as being one of the nation’s best. Her speaking style is engaging, highly substantive, well-researched, pertinent to her audiences, and entertaining, whether for the public or private sector. She is distinguished and distinct. Her style is classified as “big, broad and animated”, which leaves her audiences anxious for more. She has received many honors, including being presented more than 300 keys to American cities. She has served as the 11th National President of The Links, Inc., and the National Parliamentarian to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She has been named as one of the top five business motivators in the country by Black Enterprise Magazine; identified as one of the top 10 speakers in America, “Success Runs in Our Race”; featured in ESSENCE Magazine, and in EBONY magazine as one of the most influential people in the United States, and featured as the cover story of SPEAKER magazine, National Speaker’s Association 2007 July/August.
A resident of Atlanta, Georgia, Russell-McCloud is married to Bishop E. Earl McCloud, Jr., the 127th elected and consecrated Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Kids & Teens Acrylic Painting Class (6-16yrs)

Tuesdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm, October 2, 9, 16, and 23rd

Thursdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm, October 4, 11, 18, 25th

The class will paint 3 11×14 stretched canvases per 4 week session (Students will be painting the following: Fox in the Woods, Name Your Own Friendly Ghost, and Haunted House)
