Annual 4th of July Trolly Train Ride
July 4th 1:00pm-3:00pm – Independence Day Trolly Train Ride at Craggy Mountain Line Railroad in Woodfin. Come and enjoy an old-fashioned 7 mile round-trip trolley ride which lasts approximately one hour and 25 minutes. The ride includes a stop at the Silverline Park where the children run and play. Spend some time riding the trolley before heading out to see the fireworks. You can also tour their historic railroad equipment before or after the trip.
Their track, first travelled back in 1889 is great fun for all ages, and Craggy Mountain Line Railroad is a Non-Profit Organization which owns and operates the last three miles of the historic Craggy Mountain Line in Woodfin, North Carolina, working to make the rails open for the public to ride. There have been many changes to their right of way since September 27, when Hurricane Helene hit Western NC, but in spite of all the devastation, there are still beautiful views going over the mountain and by the French Broad river.

“Beginning with Oliver Moss in 1874, the Johnson Farm has a long history in Henderson County. The original farm house was built between 1876 and 1880 but our period of significance begins in 1913 with Mrs. Sallie Johnson. Mrs. Sallie Johnson ran the farm as a summer boarding business from 1913-1958, along with her two sons Leander and Vernon. The brothers closed the boarding business when their mother died but they remained active in Henderson County for the rest of their lives. They had a vision that one day their farm would become an educational resource for the school children of Henderson County, teaching them about the farming life that is so integral to the history of this Appalachian region. Today we honor their legacy by acting as a cultural heritage center owned and operated by Henderson County Public Schools. We offer historic home and grounds tours, field trips and heritage festivals throughout the year. We are also home to the Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists in the old boarding house. Visit our website for more details or stop by for a tour today!”

We’ll play with hoops, poi, staff, and levi-wands; available for two weeks at a time, giving everyone a chance to try each prop on for size. We hope to encourage engagement, empowerment, and connection through flow arts/object manipulation.
This is a drop-in class so everyone can join at any time, though it is encouraged to commit to the entire course (as it is a community generation experience & the curricula builds off itself).
These spaces operate on a sliding scale from $10-$20, with discounts for preregistration, AND drop-in discount punch cards!
