Garden Jubilee, one of the largest gardening shows in Western North Carolina, will be held Saturday, May 24 & Sunday, May 25 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm during Memorial Day weekend.
More than 200 plant and craft vendors line Main Street, from Sixth Avenue to Caswell Street, transforming the historic downtown area into an seven-block garden wonderland.
The two-day garden & plant extravaganza features local and regional nurseries selling thousands of annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs and hard-to-find plants. Crafters will offer distinctive garden art, and there will be handmade lawn furniture, jewelry, garden tools, planters, wind chimes, birdhouses, soaps and pottery. Visitors can also learn the latest techniques and tips from gardening experts located throughout the festival as well as presenting on the stage located in the Welcome Center parking lot.
Garden Jubilee is hosted by the Friends of Downtown Hendersonville, NC.

The only race in town that ends with some delicious falafel. Participating in the Falafel 5K will motivate you to get out into the beautiful spring weather and stay healthy and active. You can run our course complete with prizes for winners OR choose your own course for the Virtual 5K. Proceeds from the Falafel 5K support the JCC’s many programs and lifelong learning opportunities. Participants in the Asheville JCC’s Virtual 5K will run a 5K course of their choosing on Sunday, May 19th at whatever time suits them, log their time via a log button on the JCC website, and submit.A limited number of adult athletes will swim 800 yards in the “Splash” and then head over to the start line for the Falafel 5K “Dash”. We will keep track of your times for both events, but your transition time will not be counted. We are also holding a youth “Splash + Dash” where a limited number of kids ages 8-12 will swim 300 yards and then run 1K.
The Mountain Gateway Museum is having its first Pioneer Day since Hurricane Helene. Pioneer Day will be a little different this year. It will be on Friday, July 3, at 10am-4pm at 24 Water Street in Old Fort. It will have traditional Appalachian crafts, live music, food trucks, farm demonstrations, children’s games, and much more. It will also coincide with the state’s “America 250 NC” celebration on the July 4th weekend. As always, admission is free!
The AMS 4th annual fundraiser features performances by our Sound Education Outreach Ensembles, namely AMS Rock Band, Vinyl Crossroads, and AMS Chamber Ensemble, as well as the Woodsong Clarinet Choir. And for all of you Beatles fans out there, the evening will culminate with a large ensemble of AMS teachers and students covering the entire Abbey Road record!
The event will include high-dollar silent auction items, and the ability to donate to the school’s instrument library. The school is also holding a raffle of artworks, gift certificates, tickets to LEAF, and more. Bring cash!
A percentage of dinner sales will go to AMS. Dinner reservations recommended; limited concert seating available.
