Get a Behind the Scenes Look at a Record Pressing Operation & the Original WWNC Radio Station

Citizen Vinyl is a communal space housing a record press facility, cafe, bar, recording studio & analog art & record store – located in the historic Citizen Times building in downtown Asheville – an incredible specimen of the Art Moderne style whose grand civic space serves to celebrate the history of manufacturing & craft alongside the current state of music, food & beverage within our local community.

 

A very few walk-up spots are available for most public tours, but reservations are strongly recommended — first come first served! Gather at the Coda Shop Counter for your guide at the scheduled time, Tours will last ~45 minutes. Punctuality is appreciated: Late-comers may join in at any point before the group heads up to the recording studio, about 20 minutes in.

 

Be advised that there is limited access [ stairs / elevator to the 3rd floor ] due to the nature of the historically preserved 1930’s construction. Please email tours@CitizenVinyl.com ahead of time with any questions or concerns!

Sunny Day Play Space is designed to allow kids to be kids and adults to socialize, get a little work done, or simply have a place to play away from home. Their informal play space provides many developmentally appropriate activities geared towards infants, toddlers, and preschoolers age 6 years and younger. With a gentle nod to the “nature” of our area, the space offers a modern take on nature-themed play. From their large wooden playset to their indoor kitchen set, and all the gross-motor, fine motor, and imaginative play in between, they’ve got something for everyone!
 
 
 
📍 All ages are welcome within the facility, but the play area including the playset, children’s tables, play houses and toys are for children 6 and younger.
 
 
📍 Admission is good for the day, and there is no time limit for playing during open play hours.
 
 
📍 Parents and guardians must remain on-site at ALL times
 
 
📍 Socks are REQUIRED for adults and children.
 
 
📍 Admission is good for the entire day, and families are welcome to leave and re-enter the same day.

Hop N Roll Summer Concert Series

Join us on the following 4 Saturdays for live music. Music will be held on the stage in Firefly Field each night, weather permitting, beginning at 7PM. The Hungry Ghost will be open and serving food until 8:30PM. The bar will offer 13 house-made beers, wine, cider, our very own ginger beer and hard seltzer, house-made NA 2 Ditty Root Beer, non-alcoholic beer, and variety of sodas, juice boxes, bottled, water, tea, and seltzer waters. Feel free to bring your own chairs or blankets. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Coolers are not permitted. Leashed, well-behaved animals are welcome to attend.

Book-themed games and literacy activities with prizes, free family reading resources and literacy kits, a coloring station, live read-alouds with Books Alive with Ms. Ann, free dinner from Daddy Ds On Wheels and more!
Literacy kits feature “M Is for Melanin” by Tiffany Rose, a custom comprehension guide, a self portrait for coloring with Colors of the World Crayola crayons and an ABC Dot Marker activity to practice letter recognition.

CANCELLED: Summer Camp Expo 2023

UPDATE! This event has been cancelled by the Asheville Outlets
The Expo will give parents and campers the opportunity to meet representatives and view booths and displays from a variety of area camps, including: traditional overnight camps, sports camps, arts camps, day camps, academic camps and more. The event will also feature strolling magic, a face painter, live music and more.
Booths and displays will be located throughout the center.
The event is free and open to the public.
