Free Safety Skills Workshop For Kids

Free Kids Safety Workshop led by the instructors of the Speak Up and Move Kids Leadership and Safety Programs at Budo Mountain Family Martial Arts. At least one grown up must attend with each child, so you can help them practice at home! Due to recent events in our community, our focus will be on neighborhood safety. Children will learn solid, research-based skills for staying safe when playing in their yards, walking the neighborhood, and other scenarios near the home when not directly supervised by an adult. Our approach helps kids be confident and not fearful.

Pop up in the Park POUND (Ages 12 and up)

Enjoy making music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, strength training and conditioning using drumsticks specifically for exercising. All fitness levels welcome, movements modified for different abilities. Bring a yoga mat or towel & water. No preregistration required. Class is limited to 15 people. FREE!!!

Family Fun Day – Motion Makers Bicycle Shop

The traveling cycling family behind Buddy Pegs Media will coach families with children 2-6 years old through their parking lot ‘Bicycle Playground’! Perfect for balance bike kids and early pedalers.

Parent’s Night Out Workshop

Come to Motion Makers-Asheville on Friday evening, April 26th to grab a beer, socialize and learn all you need to know about raising a cycling family!

Join Buddy Pegs Co-founder and National Youth Cycling Expert, Scott Fitzgerald, as he presents experiences, research, and practical advice on how to introduce biking to the youngest kids, and why it matters more now than ever.
– create a lifelong love of adventure on two wheels
– collectively work to get more families on bikes
– pick the right gear for every age

Drinks and snacks provided by Motion Makers Bicycle Shop.
FREE and open to the public.

6:30 – Social, drinks, snacks.
7:00 – Presentation followed by open discussion and questions.
7:45 – More socializing and opportunity to purchase author signed copies of Buddy Pegs Children’s Books (B Is For Bicycles and Taking The Lead).

*Presentation is geared towards parents/adults, but kids are welcome.

Strong in Body and Mind (young women ages 13-18yrs)

This event is aimed at empowering our WNC young women for success. Appropriately planned for young women ages 13-18, we will have expert speakers discuss goal setting, nutrition, strength and conditioning, and medical/mental health topics tailored to the active young woman.

Spring Craft Market

FREE to the public! Join us for our Spring Craft Market on Saturday, April 27 11AM-4PM. We’ll have local vendors set up selling handmade goods, arts, and crafts. Be sure to grab a bite from our in-house Taqueria and a drink from the bar as you peruse Asheville’s finest makers.

Avengers Weekend!

We’ll be at the Biltmore Grande movie theater all weekend handing out free comics! Didn’t get your tickets? We’ll have free comics at the store too! It’s an all weekend celebration, come celebrate the release of the biggest Marvel movie event in history!

May Fest

Come out to Just Ripe Farm and celebrate spring with Pisgah Collective, Rooster Head Plantation, Just Ripe, Cup and Saucer, More Tomorrow Farm, The Cheef food truck and more! We will have live music by Josh Carter and Owen Grooms, food and craft vendors, games, hay rides, farm stand shopping and more, craft activities and more!

Communi-flea Market

Come out to the farm April 27th for our second annual Communi-Flea event! We will have a kid’s craft in the morning and the farm stand will be open all day. There will be many different things for sale, including furniture, tools, books, gardening supplies, clothes and more!

Easter Sunrise Service

We will celebrate with a message and music our risen savior. Observe this most special sunrise on Easter morning from Point Lookout. Invite family and friends to join us. Churches are welcome to participate.
