Join us at the Asheville Botanical Garden Visitor Center for this free event. UNCA Nema Lab students will set up stations at the Garden with a variety of fun hands on exhibits designed to teach kids about entomology.

This is a student led event supervised by Dr. Filgueiras: a member of the faculty of the Biology Department at UNCA. Her undergraduate work was in Agricultural Engineering at the Federal University of Lavras (Brazil) with masters work in the Amazon working in ethnobotany. Her doctorate was in Agronomy and Entomology focused on biological control and plant-insect interactions.She has done further research in the U.S. and joined the UNCA faculty in 2021.
