Bastet’s Meow-gical Egg Hunt

Did you know that black cats love hunting eggs?

Ok, so they don’t actually like to hunt eggs BUT they do find amusement in watching small children hunt for eggs! If you’re lucky, they may even help! (“Help” might be interpreted as getting in the way, playing with found eggs, or pushing your egg basket off the counter.) So if your miniature human likes hunting eggs and black cats, bring them out for this meowgical experience!

***** This event is completely FREE BUT YOU HAVE TO SIGN UP EACH CHILD ON OUR WEBSITE TO PARTICIPATE. We only have so many spots available and we don’t want anyone to show up and not be able to join in on the fun so please sign up ahead of time to participate! *****

EGG HUNT SCHEDULE:

11:00AM – Children 6 & under egg hunt
2:00PM – Children 7+ egg hunt

Families with children spanning both hunts can choose which hunt they’d like to participate in.

At 6pm, join the City of Asheville for a special ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony celebrating the renovation of Memorial Stadium and revitalization of Mountainside Park. All About Bugs! – Activities for Kids with UNCA NEMA Lab Students

Join us at the Asheville Botanical Garden Visitor Center for this free event. UNCA Nema Lab students will set up stations at the Garden with a variety of fun hands on exhibits designed to teach kids about entomology.

This is a student led event supervised by Dr. Filgueiras: a member of the faculty of the Biology Department at UNCA. Her undergraduate work was in Agricultural Engineering at the Federal University of Lavras (Brazil) with masters work in the Amazon working in ethnobotany. Her doctorate was in Agronomy and Entomology focused on biological control and plant-insect interactions.She has done further research in the U.S. and joined the UNCA faculty in 2021.

Community Easter Celebration

Hop on over to our day of fun. This event is for the kids and families who have been impacted negatively by Hurricane Helene. Join us for a day of family fun as we search for colorful Easter eggs, participate in fun spring Easter games with prizes, and complete crafts and activities.

Let’s Get Hoppin’ (2-5years)

Time to get Hoppin! This fun program for kids ages 2 to 5 will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 PM at the recreation center and will include an Easter themed story time, craft, egg hunt, and photos with the Easter bunny.
