Storytime @ Sassafras

Join Carson in our Kid’s Corner for storytime on Thursday at 4:30 and Saturday at 10:30 and 2:30. We read stories and sing songs and have tons of fun.
The espresso bar will be cranking for all the parents too! Have a latte and get a little shopping done. Perfect for all ages!

Monthly Open House & Free Nature Play

Interested in Growing Wild Forest School? Not looking for a school at this time, but want to come play? Previously enrolled in GWFS but aged out? Come play for a few hours! All families are welcome to our next Open House in WAVL! Contact us for specific location details.

We’ll meet at 10:30 am with some songs, share our program’s agreements with everyone, and set off for play and exploration. Q and A for interested parents! We’ll have some nuts and seeds for a snack before we end at 12:30pm.

Please wear weather-appropriate play clothes and bring water bottles!

Televised Documentary about Asheville

Exciting! In September, National Geographic TV will air a 30-minute television documentary about Asheville! A crew from National Geographic was in town earlier this summer capturing video for the piece (these photos are from that shoot). We’re excited to see it all coming together! The documentary will air September 20th at 6:30 p.m. and also September 27th at 9 a.m.

The documentary is part of an on-going partnership between Explore Asheville and National Geographic that began last year.
