Appalachian True Mountain Market

The Appalachian True Mountain Market is a showcase of the craftsmanship, creativity, skill and ingenuity that have shaped mountain culture for centuries. This Saturday market in Downtown Waynesville will feature a special collection of artisans, performers, demonstrators, and educational displays that celebrate Appalachian culture and preserve the sacred ways of mountain life.

The festival takes place between two historic Waynesville locations- the Main Street District and historic Shelton House a few blocks away and will be part of a larger grouping of heritage-themed events planned for “Carolina Heritage Weekend.”

Disciplines represented: bladesmithing, glassblowing, wheel-thrown and hand-built ceramics, woodturning, metalsmithing, leatherwork, and furniture making. Participants TBA. LEARN MORE HERE

Woodfin 5K

The Start of the 2024 Woodfin 5K is 9:00 on Saturday, April 27th in Woodfin, NC. The run/walk is hosted by, located at, and a FUNdraiser for the Woodfin Elementary School.

Annual Downtown Asheville Memorial Day Weekend Festival of the Arts

May 24th & 25th, 10:00am-5:00pm

Known for its unified support of visual arts, Asheville is welcoming back the Downtown Asheville Festival of the Arts this Memorial Day Weekend. Residents and visitors will see some of the finest locally made art alongside national artists’ works during this free, outdoor event. A scenic stroll amongst sparkling jewels, one of a kind paintings, exquisitely crafted glasswork, stunning sculpture and every medium of hand-made art, all in the artist’s mecca that is downtown Asheville, rounds out the perfect Memorial Day Weekend for art appreciators around the county. The show is set up on the streets of North and South Pack Square.

Celebrate the autumn spirit at the Asheville, A-B Tech Conference Center on Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th, 2025, with a vibrant fall market featuring cheerful shoppers, lively vendors, pumpkins, gourds, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and fantastic arts and crafts, all set against the backdrop of fabulous fall weather. Additionally, shoppers will have the chance to join our pumpkin painting contest, featuring a first prize of $50, second prize of $35, and third prize of $20. Winners will be awarded vendor bucks, valid for purchases at any vendor booth throughout the event. Following the market, vendors can redeem these vendor bucks for cash at the check-in desk!

Kiddie Kitty Time (ages 3-10yrs)

Cats at Play Cafe Asheville is a gathering space for cat lovers. Enjoy drinks, snacks and your time with adoptable cats. While the cafe is typically for ages 10+, this special Kiddie Kitty Time is for guests ages 3+.

Please review their Cat Lounge Guidelines and FAQs before making your reservation. By making this reservation, you agree to comply with all Cat Lounge Guidelines.

  • Every Saturday from 10AM to 11AM.

  • One adult per two children under 13 years old.

  • Ages 13+ do not need adult supervision.

  • Drinks and snacks can be taken into the cat lounge.

  • Book all 12 seats during checkout for a private party
