Brevard’s 4th of July Celebration is one of a kind! Come join us in Downtown Brevard for our annual Fourth of July Celebration, taking place in 2018 on Wednesday, JULY 4TH.
Brevard’s Fourth of July Celebration is Americana at its best:
The street festival runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm downtown. From there the party continues at Brevard College with the Transylvania Community Art Council’s Duck Race for Kreative Kids on King’s Creek at 6:00, as well as food, family time and celebration while awaiting the grand finale of the day – the Fireworks Extravaganza!
Kick off the day by running in Brevard Rotary’s Firecracker 5K and 10K Run starting from the American Legion Hall at 8:00am, and then come to the heart of town to check out our array of vendors and fun. You’ll find many fine arts and craftsmen, as well as non-profits and an array of games and interactive booths. Transylvania Community Arts Council hosts its 46th annual Fine Arts & Crafts Showcase on West Main Street.
And where else can you find elected officials reading the “Declaration of Independence” against the back drop of the American Flag? Live Music all day takes place at the Courthouse Gazebo from 10:00am until 5:00pm. We have performances for all ages!
A BIG favorite of this festival is The Transylvania Cruisers Club’s 25th annual Auto show of pre-1984 classic vehicles sprawled down South Broad Street. You can’t bring your pets to the festival because of city ordinance, but you CAN enter them in the Humane Society All Star Pet Show being held at Silvermont at 9:00am.
Sycamore Cycles will sponsor the annual 4th of July Bicycle Parade. Bring your children and their decorated bicycles to compete for Most Patriotic and Most Creative categories and then parade the entire crew through downtown. If you think you have the nerve, come show off your eating skills at Rocky’s hosts the 9th Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest in the afternoon.
As the festival winds down, get ready for Brevard’s favorite part of the 4th. This year’s Fireworks will be better than ever!! We’ll head down to Brevard College for more MUSIC and FOOD and FAMILY FUN while we wait for the annual fireworks show to start. Because of so much new construction and the many improvements Brevard College is undergoing, they have graciously allowed us to use the grassy area between the Village buildings. Stake your claim on a spot, and enjoy the music from there. The stage will be located on the fireworks end!
The show can also be easily seen from the Ingles parking lot and N. Broad Street (Jailhouse Hill). And don’t forget to tune in to Q102 (White Squirrel Radio), who will be broadcasting music in simultaneous rhythm.
From a run in the morning, street festival during the day, and fun at Brevard College in the evening this festival is sure to please the entire family!
