Snorkel Trail Kickoff Event

SNORKEL TRAIL KICKOFF EVENT AT THE CATAWBA GREENWAY IN MARION!
Aug 2nd 2:00-3:30pm – People of all ages are invited to join the NC Wildlife Resources Commission at the Sam Phillips Drive side of the Joseph McDowell Historical Catawba River Greenway to learn about the new Blue Ridge Snorkel Trail. Attendees will get to Snorkel with a biologist to discover the fish and other wildlife that call the Catawba River home. All participants are asked to RSVP by emailing andrea.leslie@ncwildlife.org

❗️ Participants are asked to bring a snorkel and mask or swim goggles. A limited number of snorkels will be available to use. All youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

♥️ The Blue Ridge Snorkel Trail is an innovative education project that will link together a set of publicly accessible river sites where people can safely snorkel to experience the underwater world of streams and rivers of western North Carolina and beyond. Ten sites will connect people to the underwater worlds of the Catawba, French Broad, Hiwassee, Little Tennessee, and Yadkin river basins. Each site had an educational sign, which provides safety information, a description of notable species at the site, and other information about the trail.

Kids Corner

Stop by the Blue Ridge Beer Garden and let us entertain your kiddos while you enjoy your brew! We will have games, crafts and more to keep the kids busy and having fun. This monthly event with feature a different activity each month.*

Skate with Barbie & Ken Friday, July 28th 6pm! Come meet and Skate with Barbie & Ken, take pictures in our one of a kind Barbie Photo Box, Costume Contest, Trivia Contest, Prizes, Prizes, Prizes plus skating, games, good music and Cafe Goodies!

Movie Night Under the Stars

Join us for a fun family night under the stars in the side field at Pinnacle! Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, get cozy, and enjoy How to Train Your Dragon Live Action on the big outdoor screen. We’ll have free unlimited popcorn, free drinks (one per person), and make-your-own s’mores stations. Seating opens at 6:30 PM, and the movie will begin around 7:20 PM when its dark. Everything is completely free—just bring your family, friends, and your favorite outdoor setup for a cozy night together!

Family Fun Day

FREE fun, food, and fellowship! We will have a FOAM cannon and inflatable wet slide. Bring a lawn chair & towel, and come join the fun!

Christmas in July

SANTA’S COMING TO TOWN! 🎅 Christmas in July is at the taproom this Friday, July 21! And Santa is visiting Bold Rock as part of his summer holiday. See him from 6 pm to 8 pm at the taproom; it’s never too early to secure your spot on the nice list!

We will have Christmas decor, Christmas music, an Ugly Sweater contest, yard games, and end the night with live music from Sun Dogs starting at 6 PM as part of our Summer Sounds Concert Series!

PLUS, we will be tapping some holiday CLASSICS for one day only, including Victory’s Merry Monkey & Southern Tier’s 2XMAS, and will have a visit from Santa Claus himself as he takes time off from his summer vacation!

Back to School Open House

Families will be able to tour the space, check out our educational offerings, and meet our staff and teachers. We will also have refreshments.

AVLFest

AVLFest is a venue-based music and arts festival coming to the Blue Ridge mountains August 3-6th, 2023. Presented by Asheville-based Wicked Weed Brewing and Worthwhile Sounds, AVLFest will fill 20+ area concert halls, clubs, and outdoor venues alike with an exceptional multi-genre lineup of local, regional, and national talent. Performances are set to take place throughout the 4-day festival with wristbands granting pass holders access to 100+ shows, discounts at numerous local retailers and restaurants, as well as presale access and discounts to two separately ticketed performances by Kurt Vile & the Violators and Watchhouse (formerly Mandolin Orange).

Committed to supporting local community causes, AVLFest is partnering with several local nonprofits including RiverLink, Black Wall Street, Homeward Bound, and Campaign for Southern Equality. In addition to raising awareness for their respective missions, a portion of proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to benefitting these nonprofits.

You must be 18+ to purchase AVLFest passes. Festival passes are not required for children ages 2 and under. Age restrictions vary from venue to venue, and AVLFest will be adhering to each venues’ standard policies in terms of age and entry requirements. Please check with each venue for age requirements to plan accordingly.
