Rare Editions Exhibition: a Compelling Selection of Works from The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss
July 27th-29th
BlackBird Frame & Art hosts “Rare Editions Exhibition: a Compelling Selection of Works from The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss”. The exhibit includes two-dimensional and three-dimensional works presented by Ann Jackson Gallery in Roswell, GA and is the first time “The Art of Dr. Seuss Collection” will be shown in Asheville. Visitors may explore and acquire works from Dr. Seuss’ best-known children’s books, as well as those from a mind-expanding collection of private artwork. Each limited edition has been adapted and reproduced from original drawings, paintings or sculptures. Additionally, each work bears a posthumously printed or engraved Dr. Seuss signature, identifying the work as an authorized limited edition commissioned by the Dr. Seuss Estate.

Mini Goat Play Yard

We have a fenced in area for Pygmy goat encounters; petting, snuggling, brushing, and feeding. A covered sitting area for parents near by. Our goats are the smallest breed of goat in the world: registered Pygmy’s. While the Play Yard is the main attraction, there will be other livestock to pet in stalls. Come and spend an hour and a half making memories and taking plenty of pictures. Closed toed shoes strongly recommend. We hope to see you !

Snorkel Trail Kickoff Event
SNORKEL TRAIL KICKOFF EVENT AT THE CATAWBA GREENWAY IN MARION!
Aug 2nd 2:00-3:30pm – People of all ages are invited to join the NC Wildlife Resources Commission at the Sam Phillips Drive side of the Joseph McDowell Historical Catawba River Greenway to learn about the new Blue Ridge Snorkel Trail. Attendees will get to Snorkel with a biologist to discover the fish and other wildlife that call the Catawba River home. All participants are asked to RSVP by emailing andrea.leslie@ncwildlife.org
Participants are asked to bring a snorkel and mask or swim goggles. A limited number of snorkels will be available to use. All youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The Blue Ridge Snorkel Trail is an innovative education project that will link together a set of publicly accessible river sites where people can safely snorkel to experience the underwater world of streams and rivers of western North Carolina and beyond. Ten sites will connect people to the underwater worlds of the Catawba, French Broad, Hiwassee, Little Tennessee, and Yadkin river basins. Each site had an educational sign, which provides safety information, a description of notable species at the site, and other information about the trail.
