Nerd Day

Looking for something fun to do with the kids that will enrich their minds? Nerd Nite Asheville’s FREE family friendly event returns June 21st! Nerd Day is a family-friendly version of Nerd Nite for all ages. The presenters are curated to be suitable for kids, but interesting to everyone!


Nerd Nite is a monthly event held in more than 100 cities across the globe during which folks give fun-yet-informative presentations across a variety of subjects. We call it the Discovery Channel, but with beer. And due to popular demand, Nerd Nite Asheville is bringing the Nerd Nite experience to all ages! So bring your curious kiddos for an afternoon of fun and fascination while you enjoy a tasty beverage and free popcorn at The River Arts District Brewing Company.

June lineup:

Bicycle Safety Course

The Asheville Police Department, in collaboration with Target, is excited to host a Bike Safety Event for toddlers through teens on May 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Target parking lot!

Bring your bike and helmet! Don’t have a helmet? No problem — free helmets will be available, first-come, first-served, thanks to generous support from our community.
We’ll cover key bike safety tips, ride through a fun obstacle course, and enjoy games and activities for all ages. 🚲

It’s a great way to learn, practice safe riding skills, and have fun. We hope to see you there!

Memorial Day Cookout at the Silo Cookhouse

Kick off summer with a day the whole family will love! Join us for an unforgettable Memorial Day celebration featuring games for kids, scavenger hunts, face painting, and live music to keep the party going. It’s the perfect outing for families, friends, and anyone looking to relax and have fun.

6th Anniversary Celebration

Explore their one-of-a-kind interactive exhibits, play a theremin and a few synths, and witness how they’ve inspired nearly 50,000 visitors from all over the world! This Friday, May 23rd also would have been Bob’s 91st birthday.

🎟️ To mark this Moogmentus occasion, they are offering extended hours from 10am-6pm, a reduced ticket price of $6 (normally $11.75), and FREE admission for kids 7 and under.

♥️ The Moogseum is the museum that brings synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog’s legacy to life. Their facility explores his contribution to the world of sound and music with multi-sensory, interactive timelines and exhibits, an immersive dome presenting how electricity becomes sound, historical exploration of synthesizers, and the opportunity for guests to play both theremins and Moog synthesizers. Bob lived in Asheville for the last 25 years of his life. The company that he started, Moog Music, is located in Asheville, as is the Bob Moog Foundation.

JULES! in concert

JULES! (they/them) is a GRAMMY-considered children’s artist, songwriter, and educator known for their original, inclusive music that inspires empathy, self-regulation, and self-expression. Their debut album Jamming with Jules! was released in fall 2024 and was featured on the 2025 GRAMMY ballot for Best Children’s Album. Jules! has been featured on Ms. Rachel’s Songs for Littles on Netflix and has built a vibrant community through their YouTube channel, Jamming with Jules!, which has over 4 million views.

5th Annual Global Pizza Party

This event is part of PizzaDAO’s fifth annual Global Pizza Party, uniting over 20,000 attendees across more than 400 cities worldwide to honor the historic day when Bitcoin was first used to purchase a real-world item: pizza.

The event in Asheville is open to the public, offering free pizza, music, and a welcoming environment for crypto enthusiasts, pizza lovers, and everyone in between.

This year’s party also highlights the power of community-driven initiatives, with PizzaDAO having given away over $1 million worth of pizza since its inception in 2021, while supporting artists, developers, and local businesses worldwide.
