The Marion Tailgate Season kicks off on Saturday May 4th from 10am – 2pm at 67 West Henderson St. Marion NC. Come stock up on local eggs, meats, seasonal produce, breads, pastries, plants, natural products, honey, artisan jewelry, crafts, and more! Enjoy Jump Around bounce houses, balloon animals, fairy hair, kids corner crafts, food demos, live music from band Contagious, a Kona Ice Truck and SO MUCH MORE!
11:00 AM – Arrival and Lunch … Kanuga Lunch will be picnic/ food truck style with classic cookout offerings – burgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, and a vegetarian option. Combinations include an entree, chips, cookie, and nonalcoholic drink. Cash bars will be available with wine and beer.
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM – Billy Jonas Family Show … Billy Jonas’ musical mission is to honor and empower the creativity, inherent intelligence, and desire to learn in young folks, as well as their elders; to inspire them, apart and together, to question and play—and to see these two things as inseparable pathways to joy. It’s a musical conversation, a sonic celebration, a splendiferous gathering of old and young because the ensemble is … EVERYONE. From beginning to end, participation is the name of the game.
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM – Activities … Canoeing, hiking, nature crafts, a guided Native Plant Walk, lawn games, and programming are offered by our instructors from Mountain Trail Outdoor School to get you exploring and learning about the natural world! No sign up required for activities.
3:30 PM – 5:00 PM – Free Planet Radio … Free Planet Radio is a dynamic and genre-defying band that blends elements of jazz, world music, and improvisation into a gorgeous and exciting musical experience.
