Family Day on the Joseph McDowell Historic Catawba Greenway in Marion with the McDowell Trails Association, in celebration of the Year of the Trail. All day activities, Barefoot Baby Kid Zone, music at the amphitheater, birding walk, hands-on demonstrations by the Lake James Environmental Association, food and icee trucks. Free MTA memberships offered during the event.

Splash Bash
2nd Annual Splash Bash at Camping World in Marion NC. Water slides, a 20 foot dual lane Inferno Slide, a dunk tank, a 50 foot obstacle course that ends in a water slide, foam parties EVERY HOUR, food trucks, a petting zoo (that will have a baby wallaby, llama, baby bobcat and more), and a toddler zone specifically and only for the 3 and under attendees. Inside the pavilion there will be vendors, including a section just for the youngest of entrepreneurs.

Skyland Fire Safety Day
2nd Annual Skyland Fire and Rescue Safety Day, presented by Hunter Subaru at the Biltmore Church Arden Campus. The event will focus on safety around the home, fire safety tips, health and wellness, CPR and first aid training, demonstrations of the fire department apparatus, and firefighting and rescue techniques. Activities include live music (City Limits and Red Clay Revival), food trucks (including vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and frozen dessert options), fire truck rides, apparatus tours, a junior firefighter combat challenge, inflatables and more. There will be something for the entire family to enjoy as they learn new skills and every day safety practices and techniques.
Participating agencies will host educational booths and displays focused on promoting public safety. Confirmed participants for the day include Hunter Subaru, the American Red Cross, Blood Connection Blood Drive, Buncombe County Fire Marshal and Fire Safety House, Buncombe County Sheriff Department, Buncombe County EMS, MAMA medical helicopter, Mission Hospital Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Teams, National Weather Service, NC Forest Service, WNC SAFE KIDS, Civic Credit Union, and various other public safety organizations and vendors.
The event will be held rain or shine.
There is no cost to attend.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the live music. A covered tent and seating area will be available near the music stage.

Centennial Anniversary Party
Centennial Anniversary Party at The North Carolina Arboretum with Carolina Mountain Club. Headquartered in Asheville and founded in 1923, Carolina Mountain Club is the oldest hiking and trail maintenance organization in the South, fostering the enjoyment of the mountains of Western North Carolina and adjoining regions.
